Hi, my name is Carolyn Bennett and I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I have lived and/or worked in the Yaak for over 40 years. I spent 10 years working for the Forest Service where they actually paid me to work in the woods where I live! In later years my husband and I ran a logging business here. The Yaak is a small community of people surrounded by the National Forest, where we work and play. If you want to get away from your cell phone and spend your time hiking, hunting, fishing or simply enjoying plentiful wildlife, this might be the place for you. The Yaak Valley consists of approximately 2% private property down in the river bottom and the rest is the majestic Kootenai National Forest.
